We are building the key reference database for surgery.

Our unique approach to capture surgical content lays the foundation for machine learning and AI.

We create so-called Surgical Reference Cubes by combining quality proven workflows, annotated videos and sanitized case data.

We are able to adress all surgical fields with focus on the most relevant robotic surgeries.

We leverage our expertise to develop algorithms, Neural Networks and next-generation decision-support tools for surgery.

We work closely with large MedTech companies aiming to make their products smarter, more automated and interactive.

We are constantly seeking clinical experts to become co-development partners and participate in our attractive royalty program.

The SRC

The Surgical Reference Cube

Surgical Reference Cubes (SRC) are digital representations of a world-class standard of a surgical procedure.

SRCs are based on case data, master workflows fully annotated surgical videos, imaging data and intra-OP logfiles of surgical robots and navigation tools. By that means they cover the patient-specific decision-making process of our highly experienced clinical partners.

Jointly with our MedTech partners we apply SRCs to develop rule-based algorithms and Neural Networks for various applications, including, training, analysis and decision support.

Key Features

Sanitzied case data

Including all relevant case data allows us to provide the most comprehensive data set on a given procedure.

Workflows & variations

Our master workflows include all relevant patient-specific variations, exceptions and potential complications to make surgical decision making consistant and smarter.

Annotated videos

Reference cubes contain high-resolution 2D/ 3D video and radiological data which are annotated according to pre-defined master workflows.

Algorithms & Neural Nets

Based on case data, workflows and annotated videos we develop rule-based algorithms and train neural workflows for surgical decision-making.

Procedures

A comprehensive surgical workflow database

When it comes to surgical quality, common denominators across all surgical fields are well thought-through patient-specific workflows and decision-making logics.

We aim to develop the worlds’ largest and deepest database for best-in-class surgical reference material.

Our approach applies to all surgical fields. However, we currently focus on high-volume robot assisted procedures.

While each reference cube offers a unique basis for performing a surgical procedure at the highest level of excellence, we recognize that best-in-class surgery also requires a holistic view on the patient and its unique situation.

Projects

Doing what matters.

Prof. Markus GraefenMedial Director Martini-Klinik, Hamburg, Germany
‘Creating an annotated database with all information and videos on our cases allows us to create insights and capture surgical decision making.’
Prof. Roland BeckerMedizinische Hochschule, Brandenburg, Germany
‘Knee CAT is a very helpful tool to learn and understand the complexity of TKA better. There is no reason anymore to gain practical experience in TKA surgery solely during surgery. It will help surgeons to handle difficult situation during our daily practise in the operating room. The aim will be to further improve our patients outcome.’
Prof. Sébastien LustigUniversity of Lyon, France
‘New technologies and new philosophies in TKA require new training approaches. Knee-CAT is a nice simulation-tool, allowing training at different levels with all modern TKA positioning philosophies included.’
Prof. Dr. Heiko GraichenFounder and Medical Head of Knee-CAT
‘In TKA, there are several robotic platforms, 50+ alternative implant systems, 15 alternative alignment philosophies and several alignment goals. For a beginner, this is hard to digest. That is why we created Knee-CAT - a digital training tool to practice all intra-OP decision-making in TKA based on rule-based algorithms.’

Knee-CAT awarded

The digital training tool Knee-CAT has been awarded with the AE-Price for digital education in endoprosthetics in 2022 and improves decision making by 96%.

Knee-CAT

Revolutionizing Surgical Training

Knee-CAT is our advanced digital training tool for orthopedic surgeons, enhancing decision-making in Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) by simulating patient-specific alignment workflows. Surgeons can practice key decisions and receive detailed feedback to improve techniques before performing real surgeries.

Virtual Proctor

Elevating Surgical Expertise

Virtual Proctor is an AI-based training tool that grants surgeons access to the expertise of top clinics, beginning with the Martini-Klinik in Hamburg. It features hundreds of hours of live surgeries and detailed interviews, providing comprehensive learning and advanced search capabilities for mastering complex procedures.
